Four Partnerships Launched

ESAWAS launched four strategic partnerships to enhance its activities and extend its Africa-wide and global reach. The four partnerships launched are with the African Ministers' Council on Water (AMCOW), the Bill and Melinda Gates Foundation (BMGF), the Water and Sanitation for Urban Poor (WSUP) and the Climate Resilience Infrastructure Development Facility (CRIDF).

The partnerships are anchored on the following:

  • AMCOW- Africa-wide reach to promote independent regulation and enhance capacity building in water supply and sanitation.
  • BMGF - Integrating regulation of non-sewered sanitation service provision with focus on the poor in East and Southern African Countries 
  • WSUP- Fostering and strengthening pro-poor focus between WSUP and ESAWAS Regulators and Utilities through capacity building and exchanges
  • CRIDF - provide expertise in key areas for regulatory enhancement
